AFTERSCHOOL SPECIAL w/ Dotched

THE AFTERSCHOOL SPECIALÖ.. was born while members Toby Emerson and Jon-E Industry (a.k.a. Jon Belliveau) were attending Soundwave Music Festival on the West Coast of Canada during the summer of 2008. The two had been friends for years, but after an inspirational weekend (and several delicious drinks); the two decided if they combined their efforts they could rule the dance music industry. Soon after the boys sobered up and completely forgot... A few months later, the idea was reborn over a few drinks (see a trend here?) and work on their first track "Full House" Began. The tune was quickly signed up by BugEyed Records and saw great success including taking the #23 spot on the Beatport.com Electro charts, and receiving support from some of the biggest DJ's around the globe. After such a great first release, the boys were asked back by BugEyed to do a remix of "Electric Soulside - Moulin Rouge" which hit shelves July 29th along side a remix from Electro House Wunderkind, Lazy Rich. Early 2010 has been even better for the boys, remixing the likes of Calvertron, and working with greats like Robb G, there is no surprise we keep seeing them dominating sales charts around the world!
TOBY EMERSON..... Born in Vancouver, Canada Toby has been involved music from a very young age. In high school Toby became interested in electronic music and started to get noticed by different record labels and producers after being asked to supply demo songs for the music production program FL Studio. In the past couple of years Toby has signed with labels such as Subversive UK, System Recordings, BugEyed Records, and Monster Tunes to name a few. Toby has also remixed for artists such as Andy Moor and Space Manouevres and has received airplay from DJ's such as Paul Van Dyk, Mike Shiver, and DJ Shah. Look out for Toby's highly anticipated Studio Album to be released in 2009 through Subversive Records.
JON-E INDUSTRY (a.k.a. Jon Belliveau) has been causing violent vibrations in Canadian dance floors since 2003. After starting into the Electronic music scene at a young age, he became very ambitious and started DJing and promoting right away. After starting his own production company 'Nu Industry Productions', he was not satisfied with just being a promoter, and took the natural step and began DJing. Since then, Jon-E has had the pleasure of playing in front of crowds of all shapes and sizes, as well as the honor of playing alongside some of the worlds best, including DJ Zinc, ED209, Breakage, Marcus visionary, Ill-esha, Influenza, Psidream, and John B. After a taste of success, Jon-E has no plans of slowing down, and between the event organization, live shows, and music production, he has found the time to embark on his next endeavor, Label owner. With the launch of his indie label 'Nu Industry Recordings' right around the corner, there is no telling what we can expect from this man! All we know is whatever he does next, itís bound to be something you wonít wanna miss!
DOTCHED..... dOTCHED of CityOf9s love for electronic music sparked at Tribal Gathering in '93 and was fuelled growing up in Saskatchewan playing Plastic Puppet Motiv parties and Connect Festival alongside Deko-Ze Dr.J and DJ Me. Upon moving to Victoria he founded a popular community radio show on CFUV called ReallyGoodMusic along side Rave Victoria originator Davin Greenwell/Arizona. The show went to commercial airwaves on extreme 107.3fm where it hosted the biggest names in the industry, Digweed, Moby, Paul Van Dyk and Tiesto. Flash forward to 2009 where dotched newest music endeavours take root; www.ControlFreqRadio.com, a DJ oriented podcast with co-creator DJ Synba and CityOf9s, which features a Live Electronic PA collaboration with Miami Nights 1984. He Humbly Requests your Ass on the Dance Floor.
